Crown x Moreca Atelier
The Crown Armchair, inspired by the legendary Lockheed Super Constellation ("Connie") L749 aircraft, continues our exploration of the era marking the beginning of transatlantic voyages.

Its polished 304L stainless steel frame is combined with Italian genuine leather and handcrafted hardware made from jewelry-grade 316L stainless steel.

Selected sheets of Italian grain leather, along with 316L and 304L stainless steel, are transformed into this exquisite piece through 237 manual assembly operations. Every step, including the assembly of belts and fastening elements, is done exclusively by hand.

The frame is crafted from 304L steel, with finishing of a single frame taking up to 168 hours. The height-adjustable legs are hand-carved from 304L stainless steel and inlaid with natural leather. The nameplate is made of 316L stainless steel and secured with two screws of the same material.

Fastening rings, shaped to outline the wings of the Phoenix Super Constellation GT developed by us, are made of high-strength 316L steel. Their inner and outer surfaces, adorned with micro rivets, mimic the metal lining of an aircraft body.

Creating a set of rings for one armchair requires up to 225 hours of net working time. Milling, polishing, and finishing are all done by hand. The Crown chair uses 16 such rings.

The holster screws, made of high-strength 316L steel, precisely replicate the shape of the nose cone of the Phoenix Super Constellation GT engine at a 1:280 scale. Each screw features eight engraved hemispheres corresponding to the fastener screws of the nose fairing. Crafting one screw takes up to 4 hours, and the Crown chair uses 37 of these screws.
